The Privilege of Employment

We tend to complain about the little stuff and forget the many comforts we have. Right now, with uncertainty seeming to be the only constant, even things I thought were sure and a privilege are getting harder to come by. Yes, lay-offs are happening all over in many industries, but in many cases, people are dying for work. In this environment, new graduates who have just joined the workforce are competing with themselves and artificial intelligence, and AI is making us look incompetent!

It’s easy to get frustrated with things, but today is a great reminder of what you have. If you have a position today, hold on to it and try to grow in your position. Gratitude does not mean you should settle. It’s a great privilege to maintain some level of stability in chaos. I sometimes think about where the world is going, but one thing is certain—stabilizing and grounding yourself today may be the best decision you make!
